The first race off New York September 28th 1901;
Columbia beats Shamrock 11 by 10 minutes and eight seconds on a
30 mile windward/leeward course. Although very closely contested Columbia
went on to secure the cup with another two wins. As well as battling each
other in the course of this Americas Cup Races, the weather was also a factor as can be seen
in the sky and rough water.
