Ian Maginnis Biography

Born 1977 in Kilkeel , Ireland , Ian is from a family of four generations of seafarers. He went to sea from an early age aboard his father's trawler and
undertook commissions to paint portraits of local vessels for skippers and owners. A degree in Colour Chemistry has given him a very thorough understanding of color. He has exhibited in many leading galleries in the U.K. , Ireland , and South Africa. Ian exhibits regularly with the Royal Society of Marine Artists in London.
