Lived with his father S. Badger in Charlestown, Massachusetts. Apprenticed to a trunk maker. When the factory went west took up ship portraits. Self taught. Sailed around Boston Harbor in a small yacht-took measurements of vessels or painted from blueprints. Collections: Maine Maritime Museum, Bath, Maine; Mystic Seaport Museum, Mystic, Connecticut.
